Mundo는 스페인 최대 신문사 중 하나로, 머티리얼 디자인 원칙을
앱에 통합하여 Google Play 스토어 평점이 높아졌고 사용자 참여도가
개선되었습니다.
시행한 작업
El Mundo는 보다 우수한 사용자 환경을 제공하고 독자들이 뉴스 콘텐츠에
더욱 쉽게 참여하도록 앱을 완전히 새롭게 디자인하기로
했습니다. 머티리얼 디자인 가이드라인를 구현함으로써
앱 전체의 모양 및 느낌에 일관성을 부여했습니다.
사용자 댓글을 분석한 결과 El Mundo는 독자들이 앱이 복잡하고 잘 업데이트되지
않는다고 생각한다는 사실을 발견했습니다. 따라서 앱 기능을 단순화하기
위해 중복되는 기능을 제거하기로 했습니다.
또한 날씨 예보나 영화 예고편과 같이 El Mundo의 독자와
관련성이 적은 섹션도 삭제했습니다. 마지막으로 El Mundo에서는
새로운 내부 개발 프레임워크를 적용했으며 이제 El Mundo의
모든 앱에 일관적으로 사용합니다.
결과
머티리얼 디자인 앱을 다시 출시한 뒤 El Mundo 앱의
주간 설치율이 45% 증가했습니다. 이제 독자들은 앱에서
더 많은 시간을 보내며, 앱에서 평균적으로 보내는 시간이 1분에서
3분으로 늘어났습니다.
또한 새 디자인 덕분에 더 많은 독자가 새로운 환경에 긍정적인 의견을
제공했으며, Google Play 스토어에서 앱 평점이 3.1점에서 3.9점으로
25.8% 증가했습니다.

Therefore, they decided to\nsimplify the app's functionality by removing features that were redundant.\nThey also removed sections of their app that were less relevant to their\nreaders, such as weather updates and movie trailers.
