Ricetta per ViewModel condiviso

Questa ricetta mostra come condividere un ViewModel tra diverse schermate (voci) in Navigation 3 utilizzando un NavEntryDecorator personalizzato.

Come funziona

Questo esempio definisce tre schermate:

  • ParentScreen: mostra un pulsante che incrementa un contatore, il cui stato è mantenuto in un CounterViewModel.
  • ChildScreen: una schermata secondaria che può aggiornare lo stato del contatore di ParentScreen, nonché il proprio stato isolato.
  • StandaloneScreen: una schermata indipendente con il proprio stato isolato.

SharedViewModelStoreNavEntryDecorator

Il fulcro di questa ricetta è SharedViewModelStoreNavEntryDecorator. Questo decoratore gestisce i ViewModelStore per le voci di navigazione. Consente a una voce di specificare una voce "genitore" facoltativa di cui deve condividere il ViewModelStore.

In SharedViewModelActivity.kt, NavDisplay è configurato con questo decoratore:

Condividere il ViewModel

Per abilitare la condivisione, la voce ChildScreen definisce esplicitamente il suo genitore utilizzando i metadati:

La funzione di estensione toContentKey() viene utilizzata per standardizzare il modo in cui viene specificata la contentKey di NavEntry genitore, sia quando si definisce il genitore sia quando viene fatto riferimento nei metadati dal figlio.

Quando ChildScreen richiede un CounterViewModel genitore:

Il decoratore garantisce che riceva la stessa istanza utilizzata da ParentScreen, perché utilizza il ViewModelStore di ParentScreen.

ChildScreen può comunque richiedere il proprio CounterViewModel da LocalViewModelStoreOwner predefinito:
