All apps must use monetization.subscriptions APIs to manage subscriptions catalog.

For apps targeting Android U (API Level 34) and above, USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT is now a special app permission granted automatically only to apps whose core functionality requires a full screen notification.

New requirements for apps that fall under the Health apps category.

Apps must comply with User Data - Account Deletion policy update.

August 2024

Apps may only access photos and videos directly related to app functionality. Otherwise, apps are requested to use a system picker, such as Android photo picker.

January 2025

SafetyNet Attestation will be turned off. Timeline extended from June 2024 to January 2025.

We’re introducing a Child Safety Standards policy requiring Social and Dating apps to follow specific standards and self-certify compliance on Play Console before publishing.
