Automatic Updates

Android Things is designed for security. The console helps developers keep devices secure by updating the Android Things operating system automatically. Google provides the infrastructure to host and deliver updates, and the developer has final control.

For developer preview releases, the console will automatically update the operating system on a device every few weeks after a release (unless the user has opted out of automatic updates). Developers can then test new releases of Android Things in advance and decide whether devices should be updated automatically or not.
