Build smaller apps
This year we introduced Android App Bundle, Android’s new app publishing format which delivers smaller and more efficient apps under a simplified release process. Thousands of developers have already switched and are seeing significant size savings with notable benefits. Start building app bundles today with Android Studio 3.2.
Instant app development process refined
Throughout 2018 developers have reached more users with instant apps. Now, with the Android Studio 3.3 beta release, you can publish an Android App Bundle and classify it, or a particular module, as instant-enabled, eliminating the need to maintain separate code. Instant games are much easier too, with Unity introducing the Google Play Instant plug-in and instant app support built into the new Cocos Creator.
Improve quality and performance
Android vitals has become an essential tool for developers looking to improve the quality and performance of their apps and games. This year has seen the introduction of core vitals to help you focus on metrics most important to your business.
Managing subscriptions
Subscriptions have become a thriving monetization model for apps and games, offering a low-cost entry point to your content. We continued to improve this feature where you can now easily update subscription prices and allow for more options when upgrading and downgrading the subscription offering.
